Fluffy’s Cutest Holiday Traditions

Fluffy’s Cutest Holiday Traditions

The holiday season is officially upon us! It’s always nice to slow down, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy some seasonal foods and traditions. Your cat may not have a favorite holiday carol or movie, but she does have some customs of her own. In this article from River Valley Veterinary Hospital, serving the Fox Chapel, PA area, a vet lists Fluffy’s most adorable holiday traditions.

Attacking The Tree

It’s probably safe to say that we’ll soon start seeing video compilations of cats toppling some very beautiful trees. These videos may be amusing, but this can actually be very dangerous for your pet. Take a few steps to kittyproof your tree. Decorate the bottom part sparingly, with only a few unbreakable ornaments. Keep the fragile ornaments on the top part. Avoid putting the tree near a desk or chair Fluffy could jump off. You may also want to secure the tree to the wall or ceiling with fishing line.

Playing With Boxes

When everyone has finished opening their gifts, the holiday season may start winding down for most people. However, the fun is just starting for Fluffy! Give your kitty some of the empty boxes to play with.

Napping With The Gifts

Holiday or no holiday, nothing will make Fluffy give up her napping regimen. You may very well find your furball snoozing under the tree. This does make sense: after all, kitties are wonderful gifts!

Beg For Treats

While Fido may be the begging champion of our animal pals, Fluffy is no slouch in the theatrics department, either. Offer your furball some plain, cooked, boneless meat; a can of tuna in water; or some shredded deli meat.

Fun With New Toys!

Don’t forget to pick up something special for the furball. A catnip mouse or a squeaky feather toy is fine. If you really want to bring on the purrs, get Fluffy a new bed, or perhaps a piece of kitty furniture, like a cat tower, pet tent, or tipi.

Helping With Giftwrapping

To be honest, some things are just easier to do without cats. However, many kitties still try to lend their humans a helping paw with wrapping presents. Fluffy may not be very helpful, but she is really cute!
